Shaping Tomorrow: Introducing our new Board President and co-Vice Presidents
As we look ahead to 2025, we are thrilled to announce the board members elected to the leadership roles on the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation Board. Please join us in celebrating Carla Treloar AM as President and Dan Holland, and Michael Harrison as co-Vice Presidents.
Carla brings a wealth of expertise from her role as a Scientia Professor at UNSW Sydney and her decades of research into social issues, particularly stigma surrounding HIV and other health conditions. Joining the BGF Board in 2023, Carla’s vision is grounded in fostering genuine, respectful engagement with communities and reducing the impact of stigma and discrimination. As chair of the Client Services Governance Committee, her dedication to improving public health and community-focused programs perfectly aligns with BGF’s mission to support people living with HIV and our expansion to serve the broader LGBTQIA+ community.
With over 20 years of experience leading teams in Corporate Affairs, Reputation and Sustainability initiatives, Dan is the Director of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at the Endeavour Group. His leadership in social sustainability, circular economy projects, and harm reduction has profoundly transformed the drinks and hospitality sectors. As a member of the BGF Finance Committee and a key board supporter of BGF fundraising and marketing activity since 2023, Dan is committed to driving awareness and support for BGF’s vital work.
As the Governance and Regulatory Advice Lead at Westpac Group, Michael offers deep expertise in compliance, risk management, and regulatory change programs. His extensive governance experience within Australia’s not-for-profit sector has focused on LGBTQIA+ inclusion, stigma reduction and social justice. Since joining the BGF Board in 2023, Michael has brought his passion for equity and accountability to his role in chairing the Risk and Compliance Committee.
Together, Carla, Dan and Michael bring exceptional leadership, expertise, and dedication to the BGF Board, ensuring the organisation remains well-positioned to continue delivering inclusive, tailored support for people living with HIV and the LGBTQIA+ community.
We are excited to embark on this next chapter with their guidance and look forward to the milestones we will achieve together. Please join us in warmly welcoming Carla, Dan, and Michael to their formal leadership roles at BGF
